Please complete all 4 parts of this assignment in full. You can download a Word Document here or a PDF here that will allow you to fill out the information for each part if that is easier for you. Note that while this assignment asks you to name people you know, you can use a fake name or just a first name for the person if you don’t feel comfortable using their real name or even just call them Person 1, Person 2, etc. But! Please be thinking of real people as you complete the assignment. Part 1 Answer the following questions. List the last 3 family members you spoke with in any way (on the phone, via text, over email, etc.). Note that you can define “family members” with any of the forms of kinship we’ve discussed (blood, marriage, or fictive). List the last 3 friends you spoke with in any way (on the phone, via text, over email, etc.). List the last 3 people you ate a meal with. Note that due to the current and ongoing restrictions, if you ate with someone over Skype, Zoom, etc. that can count for this. List the last 3 people you spent a holiday with. Note that due to the current and ongoing restrictions, if you had some sort of holiday event with someone over Skype, Zoom, etc. that can count for this. Part 2 Make a full list of all the different people you listed in part 1. This will help you focus your list a bit if there are people who are listed in multiple categories. This complete list should have anywhere from 3 to 12 people on it. Part 3 Think about your own identities, beliefs, and behaviors. List 5 ways you identify yourself here. This can include things like: religion or religious affiliation (including atheism or agnosticism), socio-economic class status, gender, sexual orientation, race or ethnicity, ability/disability, chronic illness, first or second language, job, major, geographic location (including hometown, birth place, current residence, etc.), nationality, political affiliation, social group membership (including a fraternity or sorority, a club, a sports team, etc.), food choices (including being vegan, vegetarian, etc.), or some other similar identity. Part 4 Add up the number of people from Part 2 who share each identity you listed in Part 3. You can just list the total number of people from Part 2 who share that identity with you (0-12). You do not have to list their names or otherwise identify them. Part 5 Parts 1 – 4 show your personal network, at least in some ways. Use the information you put together there to Answer the following questions in 50-150 words each: In what ways are the people you interact with, as shown here, like you? In what ways are the people you interact with, as shown here, different from you? Did any of your answers surprise you? Do you think this assignment is an accurate reflection of your life as a whole? Why or why not?
