Arminianism
Though the views of Jacobus Arminius (1560- 1609) were not so divergent from traditional reformed Theology, those of his successors were increasingly so. Arminianism teaches that Adam was created in innocence , not holiness, that sin consists in acts of the will, that we inherit pollution from Adam but not guilt or sin nature, that man is not totally depraved, that man has the ability to do good and to conform to Gods will in this life so as to be perfect, and that the human will is one of the causes of regeneration .Wesleyan theology ,sometimes called evangelical Arminianism, holds similar views on the subject of Adams sin and mans ability, though its differs in other points.
