1- When we think about Cyber Security we mostly think about software as the part that needs to be checked for vulnerabilities and we downplay the importance of hardware vulnerabilities. As shown in the video, people can use concepts in physics and math that can exploit hardware vulnerabilities that can make the software security useless. As a person working in the Cyber Security industry, having knowledge in physics and math can allow for you to be more aware of the physical exploits that you must stop when building a secure network. Having this knowledge will increase the security of the systems you are creating and will make you a more valuable employee.
2- When watching the video, I found it really interesting to see how they used colors from the laser to trick the microphones into thinking its receiving a voice command. This show just how involved math and physics can be with CYSE. In CYSE you’ll have to code things that have to do with angles or with light arrays and that will require an understanding of both physics and math. Also while watching this video, it shows just how vulnerable some home systems can be.
