Students will create an informational presentation addressing qualities of a teacher, professional goals, illustrations of key concepts, discussion of historical figures, highlights of the NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct and personal reflections.
*If you choose a presentation method other than Word, PowerPoint, or Googleslides, please check with your instructor to be sure your work will be in a format that the instructor can access.

Choose a minimum of three theory categories, and related theorists (i.e. Constructivist: Dewey, Behaviorist:Skinner, etc)
Identify the main ideas related to the category, and specific theorist chosen
Philosophy
A minimum of one slide
State your philosophy of child development and teaching. What do you believe about:
The period of early childhood
How young children learn
What does Developmentally Appropriate mean to you?
How will you incorporate children’s culture and diversity into the classroom in authentic ways?
Identify and discuss the historical figures /theorists and their significant ideas in the field of ECE which you have found most influential in providing a foundation for your philosophy.
Characteristics of Quality and Developmentally Appropriate Practices
You will provide paragraphs, visual illustrations, and key words to demonstrate the most important ideas you have learned about characteristics of quality, application of theory, along with developmentally appropriate practices and teaching strategies. Brief quotes should be used to support statements. (Consider them like chocolate chips in a cookie, they should be sparingly sprinkled throughout.)
