In case you didn’t notice, there was a link for the Developmental Matrix Learning Team project in week 1 and again in week 2 (and every week through the end of class), including ‘Learning Team Assignments’ for week 5. This is your ‘Final Learning Team project’ that is due the last day of class; however, it is designed for your team to work on, throughout the course. That being said, I realize the file you downloaded from the Developmental Stages Matrix Preparation link does not include instructions to guide your work. Therefore, I’ll summarize my expectations here so your team can start working on this.
Aside from the Charter, which is essentially an ungraded assignment (1 point), there is one other team assignment (beside the final) in this course, which is due in week 3. As a result, your team will have extra time to work on this assignment between now and the final day of class. Subsequently, my expectation is that your final Learning Team project should reflect the time you have available.
Additionally, the reason it is designed to work on every week is because the stages of development on the matrix correspond chronologically with the topics we cover each week. If you keep up with this each week, it will be much easier to complete than if you wait until the final week, or worse, the last minute. And so you know, I’ve been doing this for some time now and it’s pretty easy for me to tell which groups worked on theirs throughout the course and which groups waited until the end. Of course, you’re all adults and you can choose whichever direction you decide. Just know that your grade will quite likely be a direct reflection of your effort.
As for details,
There is no specific word count for this assignment. Nonetheless, my expectations are consistent with that of a student earning a bachelor degree. In other words, Bullet Points or weak explanations will earn your team minimal points. I expect a content rich, comprehensive explanation of each topic, supported by research (e.g., in-text citations and a reference page added to the end (new page). Since this is a team project, you should also add an APA formatted cover page with all team members who contributed to the project listed. FYI – the form field, or text box, of your template expands to fit your content, so you are not limited to the size of the current text boxes.
On an unrelated note, any communication with you team should take place in your team workspace, not this main class area. The main class area is generally reserved for general information. It’s more difficult for all of us to keep up with important information (such as this), when the class message space gets cluttered with team communication. I realize the online classroom and/or working on a Learning Team may be a new experience for some of you, so no worries, you’ll have it all figured in a short time!
Thanks all, and please let me know if you have any questions – keep up the good work!!
