Do I think people have a right to die if they are in great pain and diagnosed with a terminal illness? Honestly, I do believe that people have the right to choose how they die. There is only one thing promised in this world when you are born – and that is you will die one day, whether it is a slow painful death or quick death that you will never see coming. If a person is diagnosed with a terminal illness where they know they will not be happy with any of the results, I believe it is the individual person’s right to chose whether they die quickly or if they take the long train and live out their days in pain.

What is the difference between euthanasia and physician assisted suicide? According to Goligher and the many other authors, physician-assisted suicide, also known as PAS, refers to the given of prescription of lethal medication to be voluntarily self administered by the patient. While euthanasia is approximately that same, it refers to the deliberate, direct causation of death by a physician, like a lethal injection. So, reading that, the main difference is one is to be voluntary taken in any spot of the patent’s choosing, while the other is done in a hospital setting by the physician him or her self.

Should euthanasia be legal or illegal? Should physician-assisted suicide be legal or illegal? In my beliefs, I think both of them should be legal. Like I said earlier, the only thing you are promised when you are born is that you are going to die. Especially if you get told you only have 6 months to live or you have an illness that causes pain throughout your whole body, like Multiple Sclerosis, to a point that all you think about is ‘why am I even here’ or have to take 20 pain pills a day just to make it through without wenching in agony, and you want a quick and easy way to die whether than having to suffer physically and mentally every day, I believe you should be able to have that choice. Now, if only one could be legalized, I would prefer physician-assisted suicide. The reason for that is because you should be able to choose where you die. If you wanted to take the pills in the hospital, then go ahead and do that. But some people, like myself, have a place they would rather die, whether it be in their home or on the beach. I believe that if you know that you are going to die, it is better to die happy.
