When discipline is inculcated among toddlers, it becomes easy for them to determine what type of behavior is acceptable and what is not acceptable.  Ideally, when promoting effective discipline among children, there is a need to ensure specific tools are embraced, such as positive reinforcement, loving, and supportive family.  In some instances, punishments can also be embraced as a useful tool for promoting toddlers’ effective discipline.  In other words, when discipline is inculcated among toddlers, it becomes easy for them to follow some basic rules.  Discipline is the foundation for the development of a child when it realizes oneself (Watson,2020).  Parents and caregivers should be at the forefront of teaching and guiding toddlers to embrace effective discipline.  They are encouraged not to force them but instead encourage them while pointing out interventions that promote acceptable behavior. Through this, trust between parents and toddlers is maintained while understanding children that their parents love them and support them. Promoting discipline among children sounds so straightforward, but parents often become frustrated with toddlers and discipline issues. In most cases, parents entrust caregivers with the responsibility of promoting good behaviors to toddlers, as well as protecting them from all forms of harm.  This proposal promotes useful insights to parents when it comes to knowledge acquisition in promoting early childhood discipline.

Problem statement

In the current world, cases of indiscipline have become rampant. Many children, youth, and young adults usually portray indiscipline behaviors that have seen them landing into trouble, mostly with law enforcers.  Parents are encouraged to comprehensively understand early childhood behavior that would be instrumental in promoting meaningful development.  Unless parents take the initiative of equipping discipline to their children, it would have severe consequences in their adult life. In other words, it would not be possible for them to integrate successfully within society. As it is stated by Whipple & Richey (1997), lack of sufficient discipline has made many children engage in practices that endanger their lives. Others have been left with lifetime disorders or other complications. With the rising economic challenges, it has been difficult for parents to promote discipline among their children effectively. This has forced them to leave their children under the care of caregivers who may not adequately promote discipline.  Many studies have been conducted to ascertain the possible causes of early childhood indiscipline behaviors. However, socioeconomic differences have not been prioritized despite it being critical when it comes to understanding children’s behavior.  Ryan and colleagues (2016) highlight that discipline among young children is based on their parents’ economic classification.

Theoretical Framework

This project seeks to show the relationship between effective discipline methods and the socioeconomic status of the parents. Here, a range of concepts is covered to influence the use of the existing discipline measures and parents’ ability to incorporate interventions that suit discipline development among specific children.

Purpose and Significance of the Study

This study is supported by research to identify the problem outlined. Researchers have been keen to identify indiscipline cases among children in early childhood and the possible mechanisms employed to reduce them.  To enable parents to promote effective discipline among children, the current research would be vital in instilling good behavior among their children.

Parents are the key pillars when it comes to equipping discipline among their children. With this regard, they must make sure that they develop a good relationship with their children in their early stages of development in order to monitor the behavior changes more effectively. This would prevent the occurrence of specific issues that may arise in the later years of adulthood.  In some instances, discipline may be the most challenging responsibility of parenting (Oso, 2020). Although this might be true, this is an essential responsibility because it promotes the child’s right livelihood and serves as an effective strategy for building a reliable and robust community.

In this case, parents are critical in ensuring their children’s discipline is well developed and allowed to exercise it even in adulthood.  Although this research is critical, it may be impacted by various factors such as time, population size, and access to data.
