Human trafficking is global problem that impacts both men and women. On an annual basis, the U.S. Department of State assesses what governments around the world are doing to combat human trafficking and compiles a report called the Trafficking in Persons (TIP) Report. As noted by the Secretary of State, this report is “an invaluable tool to arm ourselves with the latest information at home and abroad. It helps us go beyond preconceived notions of what we think human trafficking is and better understand the complexities of this crime.”
