Team Assignment: Organizing the Team

In this unit and the next you will work in a team of two members as assigned by your instructor.

For this Assignment you will be getting yourselves organized and communicating between one another in the assigned Team Area located below Unit 10 to discuss how you will complete your deliverables due at the end of this unit.

Read the scenario and address the checklist items as a team. You will submit a team agreement and a 1 page response to the checklist items as a team of two as assigned by your instructor.

Scenario:

A new medical products company that specializes in products that benefit the disabled, began about a year ago. They realized that product development is further enhanced when their creative product developers and engineers work in teams. The company vision is: Provide enabling products to enhance lives. Their mission is to provide products that make daily living easier for the disabled. Their values are embodied in the company saying: Integrity and transparency in all that we do.

Several teams of two are tasked with developing the newest energy efficient motorized wheel chairs. These teams will compete on their designs for the new products and the best product will be produced. The executive leadership has given the teams a deadline of 4 months.

In groups of two, use these team rules of the road and the team agreement to decide how you will function as a team.

Checklist: Based on the scenario and the company vision, mission and values:

• Decide the small team scenario S.M.A.R.T. goals.
• Each member of the team should provide a persuasive argument as to why they should be the leader of the team (each member of the team inserts their name before their persuasive argument (see Rogers, 2015 reading.)
• Team agreement (concerning your assigned two-person team): Delineate team member responsibilities, timeline, etc.

Make sure that you double space the Word document and use 12 point Times New Roman font.
