Using the product you chose in Unit 1 discussion board, List two features of the product and assess how they transform into benefits for you; determine consumer behavior towards your product as compared to their current behavior towards your competitor’s product. Discuss how the product fits your lifestyle or psychographic.

I choose to use the umbrella by the name Bella which to me seems to be short for umbrella.

This is an umbrella that is folded up and it is the most preeminent attributes the business has to provide. Anyone who’s in the process of getting into their vehicle with normal umbrellas often have the issue of letting down their umbrella upon getting in their car and letting it down and having a problem of water dripping all inside the vehicle and they then have a mess. So, with my idea for a Bella would keep water from being caught up inside it was to develop an umbrella which would be folded up and it will let trapped water discard on the ground. It will be a plus to some of the windy cities because it is shield proof from wind. Now keeping in mind that the stormy weather would cause the umbrella to fold up due to heavy winds, but the idea behind this umbrella is it would hold its shape or form so one can stay dry while walking throughout the rainy days.

This service helps with my style of living as it is a possible way which I can give back to the communities. Knowing my idea for the project is going to have an enormous impact on the communities and that it would show the corporations

leadership. Assisting with help for children who has aged and came out of the adopted care and now is learning responsibility as citizens.

Based on Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, what level of need will your ‘improved’ product meet? Explain.

His theory said that everyone should satisfy the low levels of deficits and need in order to progress onward meeting the high levels of growing need. Mcleod, 2018). My services will meet the need of loving, belonging, self-esteem.

Belonging and Loving

Children that are in adopted care are all wanting to be with a family who will

love and care for them unquestionably. These kids just want a family to call their own and just want to have a family to belong to. I want my service to be one which will build self-worthiness and achievement. The self-actualization comes in because after the program, these children will have an understanding of life, achieve goals they have set and possibly have a better way of living before them.

Draft a mission statement for your product and set three (3) specific applicable marketing goals which you would like to meet in your marketing strategy.

The Living Life and Loving it Past the System will help children learn responsibility

and that love, being accepted, and their accomplishments is guaranteed. It is a dedication to giving children the chance to belong to families that promise to be loving, keep them safe and providing a secured environment which is nurtured.

Hello Class,

In reviewing unit5 IP(induvial project ) I am very nervous about this assignment in creating my own strategic market plan and the different sections to the assignment. I have first been thinking about what kind of product do I want to create and how it will benefit its consumers. I think I want to do something more or the natural scale for the environment as well and my consumers. This product will target the 25-45 age demographic. Once I have a product, I will be able to research my competitors and the target market for the product and the features that will make my product stand out from the rest of the market products of the same service. Will we have a live chat to go over unit 5 IP expectations and tips on research and sources for the project. To help with my unit 5 project I will need to decide on a project review the competitors project that are similar research the difference and similarities of the projects to see where I can improve to make my project more beneficial for the consumer and communities. A outline and begin a list of my resources for the references.

The project I chose in unit 1 was Native body wash and aluminum-free deodorant the product is made with all-natural ingredients and the price of the product is not very expensive. The benefits to me is the lower pricing and the ingredients being natural allows for me to help the environment and protect my skin and health from artificial chemicals. Consumers are having a positive reaction to this product per the reviews posted on the website and the new scents the company is creating. Other natural products such as Toms are more expensive, and the smell does not last as long in the body wash or deodorant. Native fits my lift style due to wanting to do what I can to save the environment using more natural beauty products that fit my budget and where I am not smelling before the end of the day due to my deodorant.

In reviewing Maslow’s hierarchy theory my improved product will be social and self-esteem if a person is confident and comfortable with their appearance and hygiene, they are more likely to go out and meet other as well as join in more social activities personally and at work.

My mission statement to provide a environmentally safe product all-natural ingredients at reasonable prices to you the confidence you need that no matter the amount of hours and obstacles of your day to day task you will remain fresh and clean no matter the age.  My marketing goals for the product to increase the target market for male consumers of the product.  To increase distribution in by 35 percent in retail stores while increasing internet sales and social media marketing of the product as well.

What questions do you have about the overarching Unit 5 assignment? Although not due until the end of the class, it is important that you begin planning for this project early in the course. What are your initial thoughts about how you will approach this assignment? Explain.

I reviewed the assignment details for the individual project for Unit 5 and I have the following questions. Who are the stakeholders/audience that will be reviewing the strategic marketing plan? Can the product or service we choose be an enhancement or different variation of an existing product or service? Or does the product or service we choose have to be brand new? Are we limited to only using the AIU library articles for references? My initial thoughts of the assignment are that the project template is straight forward. The project template provides sections with supporting detail on what is needed in each section of the template. I have an idea of the product/service I would like to use for the assignment. The first action item I will complete is to create and outline with brainstorming ideas for each section that is shown in the project template. Once I have my ideas written down, I will begin to research to provide additional information. Completing the sections in increments after creating my outline will be my next step until I have a completed draft and then eventually a final document.

Using the product you chose in Unit 1 discussion board, List two features of the product and assess how they transform into benefits for you; determine consumer behavior towards your product as compared to their current behavior towards your competitor’s product. Discuss how the product fits your lifestyle or psychographic.

The product I chose in Unit 1 was virtual reality environment landscape that can be used while using virtual reality goggles. One feature is person to person virtual reality chat. Users will be able to call other users via the virtual reality goggles. Another feature is that a user will be able to choose a predefined environment landscape when VR chatting with another user. The Covid-19 quarantine and social distancing has made an increase in need for virtual interaction. Consumers are able to join other users in gaming virtual reality landscapes specific to the game via the gaming console platform. But my product has a more personalized edge. The product fits my lifestyle because I travel as a consultant. I have 2 teenagers. We use video chat today to interact when I am away. The new product will give a personalized way of interacting with them. For instance, my daughter loves beaches. When I VR chat with my daughter, she can choose a beach location for use to walk and talk on. My son loves the cherry blossom trees. When I VR chat with my son, he can choose a cherry blossom tree landscape for use to interact in.

Based on Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, what level of need will your ‘improved’ product meet? Explain.

I think this product will satisfy safety, social, and personal needs. Due to Covid-19, interacting with others virtually is safer than in person. I have seen quarantine commercials that say, “We are in this together.” There is a social need to be able to interact with each other. The quarantine blocks interactions with families and friends. The VR chat will bring them together safely with a VR environment and give them an option on what environment to choose to interact with their loved ones. The entertainment and fun from interacting with a VR environment landscape will also satisfy personal needs. May I can work out while I’m on the beach!

Draft a mission statement for your product and set three (3) specific applicable marketing goals which you would like to meet in your marketing strategy.

My mission statement is, “To bring the best virtual reality user experience to social, professional, and educational platforms to the world.” My three marketing goals are cost effective/affordability, user friendly, and easily accessible.

  1. What questions do you have about the overarching Unit 5 assignment? Although not due until the end of the class, it is important that you begin planning for this project early in the course. What are your initial thoughts about how you will approach this assignment? Explain.

I started looking at the Unit 5 Individual project on the first day of class. Initially, I had a lot of questions but after I started peeling back the layers of what is expected, I begin to feel a little more confident in my ability to develop a comprehensive marketing plan that will be effective for a product or service that is ready to be marketed. I plan on attacking this monstrous project by doing what I previously stated, I plan to take it one step at a time, brainstorm information that should be included in each section, gather all research and data that will be used in the marketing plan, and lastly build the write the comprehensive plan.

Reflecting back to my undergraduate days, I feel that I didn’t plan properly when it came to completing major projects. I always made a good grade. However, I could have done a lot better if I would have planned better. I never started those projects in advance like my professors recommended. I usually waited until the last weekend before the project was due and then pull everything together at the last minute. Looking back on some of those projects, I see numerous places where I could have done better. Undergrad was a learning experience for me. I learned a lot but most importantly, I learned what not to do when it comes to preparing for graduate level course work. My favorite teacher in high school would always tell me “Christopher, when you fail to plan, you are planning to fail!” I thought that was ridiculous for her to say but now I understand why she constantly stayed on me about proper planning.

  1. Using the product you chose in Unit 1 discussion board, List two features of the product and assess how they transform into benefits for you; determine consumer behavior towards your product as compared to their current behavior towards your competitor’s product. Discuss how the product fits your lifestyle or psychographic.

The two features of the Samsung cell phone that are beneficial to me is the 15W fast charging 4000mAh battery and the 123 degree ultra-wide lens for capturing life size videos and photos. These features of the Samsung A series cell phones are beneficial to me because with the world seemingly going more virtual and social platform driven, the wide lens offers the ability to capture special moments without fear of missing important details and background elements.  The fast charging ability, in my opinion, is most beneficial because most business executives use their cell phones to conduct important business meetings and follow up on sales leads. When your phone needs to be charged for an important meeting, you may or may not have time to sit by a charging port to wait for the phone to charge to full percentage. So, fast charging will make sure that we you spend less time being connected to a charging station and more time being connected to business partners and potential clients. Time is money, so in the competitive business world today, no one has hours to spend waiting for cell phones to charge.

According to the manufacturers market share of smartphone sales in the US from 2016-2019, Samsung has 20% of the market sales while its major competitor has 49% of the market sales. So, I think that according to the stats of consumer behavior, Samsung still has a way to go before overtaking the current market leader for cell phone sales. However, I feel if they will invest time and effort into developing a unique software system which will enhance their already established product, they can level the playing field and perhaps overtake the current leader of cell phone sales.

  1. Based on Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, what level of need will your ‘improved’ product meet? Explain.

Based on Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs, I feel that if Samsung developed and implemented their own software system for their unique products it would meet the social needs of its users and potential users. The social needs would be met because the product, in my opinion would allow its users to have all the bells and whistles that come with having the latest cell phone with the newest and most innovative technology.

  1. Draft a mission statement for your product and set three (3) specific applicable marketing goals which you would like to meet in your marketing strategy.

The mission statement that I would use to market my new and improved operating system for Samsung would be similar to the market leading competitor. The mission statement would read, we intend to offer the best and most user-friendly operating system on the market by integrating the most innovative and cutting-edge technology in every handheld device. The marketing goals that I would like to see met with this marketing strategy would be to increase brand awareness, to increase brand value among customers, and to increase product loyal customers.

  1. What questions do you have about the overarching Unit 5 assignment? Although not due until the end of the class, it is important that you begin planning for this project early in the course. What are your initial thoughts about how you will approach this assignment? Explain.

I do not have any major questions that will not sort themselves out as I approach the Marketing Plan.  My product to improve, size-inclusive ride seats, is more than a one and done item and is more of a concept, so I will have to brush with wide strokes and still meet the criteria outlined in the final paper.  Maybe I will create an engineering outfit to consult with manufacturers.  I could also use the Americans with Disabilities Act and try to ensure taller patrons as well as wider patrons are not discriminated against when trying to access amusement rides.

  1. Using the product you chose in Unit 1 discussion board, List two features of the product and assess how they transform into benefits for you; determine consumer behavior towards your product as compared to their current behavior towards your competitor’s product. Discuss how the product fits your lifestyle or psychographic.

If I was the Walt Disney Company, or Universal Studios, I think there would be an increase of attendance if they could say that as of XXX date every major attraction is re-designed to fit kids of all sizes.  Wider seats as well as greater legroom would be the two primary features.  As it currently sits, those larger patrons do not get to ride or they wait in line and get to the point of loading up to only realize they don’t fit.  Nasty stares from other riders as they finally get to get on and the person who won’t fit is holding things up.  The indignation and embarrassment are preventable if the ride was considerate of larger riders.

I could have Shaquille O’Neil (who isn’t afraid to brand his smiling face on anything) in a commercial trying to fit into the Seven Dwarves Mine train car ride (a notoriously tight fitting ride) and being sad, then fitting into the new larger seats at the back of the train and smiling like a kid in a candy store.  Segue into the tag line, “…here at WDW, we are inclusive of all our guests and have made great strides in supporting our taller and larger guests”.

As a person that is of above average height myself, I have troubles getting into some of these rides.  Personally, having this consideration would enhance my own visits to these parks and allow me to share some of the fun with my grandkids instead of taking them to the ride only to sit and wait outside for them to finish. As it stands now, there is no competition to this marketing segment.  I believe that if one of the larger companies did this, the other would shortly follow suit.  The change would then trickle out among the industry creating change for most all amusement parks.

  1. Based on Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, what level of need will your ‘improved’ product meet? Explain.

From my perspective, this fits squarely in the Belongingness and love needs.  Inclusion in fun is a big part of feeling acceptance and love.  Treating everyone with respect is universal and making a distinct effort towards ensuring the larger patrons are considered means something.   It means something to every one of those families who have been in that situation before and could be in the future.

  1. Draft a mission statement for your product and set three (3) specific applicable marketing goals which you would like to meet in your marketing strategy.

“Here at XYZ company, inclusivity of all our guests matters. Taller and larger patrons’ needs have been engineered into all major attractions to support better park experiences on every visit; now and into the future.”

Marketing impact to goals (Board, 2014):  New ride capabilities will be an advertising campaign that touts diversity and inclusion and is ADA compliant.

Build the Brand Awareness: where everyone matters and is considered.

Garner Customer Consideration: those that have chosen not to go, or those who sit and wait on rides can now participate in the family fun.   Knowing the park has made improvements to their product will encourage more participants and visitors.

Generate Sales: those that were not attending previously would now attend.   Families that are conscious to diversity and inclusion causes would also choose the park that made these changes.
