Introductory paragraph: Your essay should begin with a brief introduction that establishes the author’s topic (issue being discussed), audience, and purpose. The intro must include a thesis statement that succinctly forecasts the major points (rhetorical elements) you will be covering in this essay, and whether or not the article is successful in getting its point across.
Analysis of Article: Over multiple paragraphs (2-3 depending on length of paragraphs and points covered) you will discuss the rhetorical aspects you have chosen to discuss.
Conclusion: In a brief conclusion, wrap up the overall goal of the essay, briefly recapping your most important and re-stating your thesis in a new way. Try to include at least one sentence that considers the implications of this issue, which helps give the reader a sense of closure.
