This week you have one discussion board and one individual project to complete.
In your discussion, you will create an outline for the work you will do in your week four Individual Project. I repeat: In your discussion board, you will simply create an outline of what you will write in your week four individual project. You cannot do so without understanding what the instructions for the week four IP, so that is the best place to start.
In your week four IP, you will review a scenario involving possible entrapment. You will be the police officer in this scenario, so you will be the one accused of entrapping this defendant. How will you defend yourself? What does it mean to “entrap” someone? What is the legal definition? What does the case law say? These are the issues you will consider in your week four IP, so these are the issues you will outline in your week 4 DB.
You will be asked to find 2-3 legal decisions (“cases”) where the court considered an entrapment case and made a final decision. You are asked to “brief” those cases. There is a specific format in the directions but that format is optional. If you would prefer, you can simply summarize each of the two cases in two separate paragraphs.
Finally, I am giving you the two most important cases in this area so that you do not get mired down in the research. They are the Jacobson case and the Hampton case. Here is a link to each one:
