This project illustrates the Data Information and Management concepts into a theoretical and practical presentation, we as a group chose to apply these concepts to “Lulu” as an ordering system company, there are many information provided for this company that supports the ideas we learned in class. Organization description is provided, to give the reader a brief description of the targeted company, as well as a summary of the system that the company goes by. 5 main Business rules were presented. In addition, the group created a Data Dictionary, ERD Diagram and queries that are suited for the ordering system process for “Lulu”.

Organization description: 

Lulu is a retail hypermarket as it consists of many sections such as grocery, furniture, electronics, clothes … etc. It was founded in 2000 by manager director Yusuff Ali M.A, the first branch operated in U.A.E in Dubai, then it has spread rapidly, It is considered a well-known retail in the retail industry especially in the gulf region. Today, Lulu has 178 stores in 22 countries located across the Middle East and Asia.

The goal of Lulu hypermarket is providing advance shopping atmosphere by offering variation of products that match consumer needs and exploring new market opportunities as well as ensuring that customers receive high quality product since it’s a priority to the company.

System description:

Lulu follows order and tracking system, the process starts with the customer ordering their needed products such as grocery, clothes and technology products from Lulu through their online order Website, then the staff check if the order items are in stock. Following that, Lulu tracks the order and delivers it to the customers on time. Also, there is a customer service to facilitate the refund process for products.

Each company has business rules which describe the policies and procedures within the organization, they are used to illustrate entities, attributes, relationship and constraints.

• One customer generates many invoices, each invoice is generated by one customer.
• One customer places many orders, each order is placed by one customer.
• One order has many order details, each order detail describes one order.
• One product contains many order details, each order detail represents one product.
• One delivery drops many orders, each order is dropped by one delivery.
