Although the statement could create wrong impressions from particular contexts, it describes a societal issue that needs to be rethought. The strong condemnation of these comments by Bill Holmes goes overboard in castigating White Americans for the persistent racism. Holmes’s opinion fails to provide valid reasons to denounce the validity of McConnell’s comments. Instead, he wrongly generalizes all White Americans as overly and non-apologetically responsible for racism in the country. It does not reflect a clear framework to rectify the policies around transportation, housing, labor, and education that have adversely promoted unequal justice for Black Americans and other people of color.
