American Policy Essay
Prompt: Write an argumentative essay that discusses a relevant American Policy of your choice. You will need to explain the policy you are examining and argue how we can restructure it, revise it, or remove it and why we should. Consider how these policies connect to your major and see if there is any argument that can be constructed. Use our reading in this unit as a jumping off point and be prepared to clear your topic by me when we have another brainstorm assignment.
Possible topics: Copyright law, HIPAA regulations, The Paris Agreement, Immigration policies, Criminal Detention regulations, Medical Research restrictions, Common Core education, Censorship, Globalization, Foreign Trade agreements, Cancel Culture, Judicial sentencing, Political lobbying, Medical testing, Trade school options, etc.
NOTE: You do not have to use articles from the White House website in your essay, but you will be required to some preliminary research there.
Minimum Requirements:
Must be MLA format, including a Works Cited
Include at least three academic sources from the library databases, or other credible sources.
Include several direct quotes as evidence
Include an opposing argument
Contain minimal grammatical and syntactical errors
6-7 pages minimum
