The effectiveness of these programs depends entirely on the person’s willingness to change for the better. A lot of families don’t know how these programs work and hesitate to learn more about programs because they’re afraid. They are one whole division dedicated not only to help drug addicts who want to be helped. They have laid out a system which many different programs with whatever the defendant needs. The programs range from, screening and access what their risks and needs, a financial program, job training programs, and housing programs.  A study done by the Department of Justice showed that 84 percent of drug court graduates were not arrested on serious crimes after a year of graduating and 72.5 percent were not arrested after 2 years. Drug courts are also not only for the physical toll it takes on the body but mentally as well. Overall there are better options than just jail our country is doing what they can to rehabilitation drug addicts.
