This Gender in Popular Culture Project must explore a humanities-based artifact from one of the following genres: • Visual Art (sculpture, photography, painting, drawing, printmaking, ceramics, textiles, etc.) ex: Sherman’s Woman in Distress, Duchamp’s Nude Descending a Staircase, Bourgeois’s The Spider • Performing Art (theatre, film, dance, music, performance art, spoken word poetry, etc.) ex: La Bruja’s 9/11, Schneemann’s Interior Scroll, Green’s Gun Hill Road • Literary Art (non-fiction, fiction, poetry, novel, graphic novel, journalism, biography, etc.) ex: Moore’s Watchmen, Gilman’s The Yellow Wallpaper, Díaz’s This is How You Lose Her Create your analysis, utilizing the following: • 12 pt. font • Double-spaced • 750-word minimum • Standard, uniform format style (MLA preferred) • Formal Works Cited page • One primary source (your project itself) and a minimum of one secondary source Previous examples of student projects include: 1.
