- Evaluate a TV show or film depicting the healthcare field.
- Evaluate and challenge the ethics of what you see as the wrong way to go regarding some policy, procedure, or behavior in some aspect related to healthcare. You could argue for or against one of the healthcare plans proposed by politicians of past or present, or for or against a policy at your workplace.
Whichever you choose, your paper will need to demonstrate your new or deepened expertise on the subject matter through research.
Research: First using the LIRN databases, draw on at least 3 outside sources that are suitable for academic writing assignments.
Body Organization/Structure
- structure: Topic sentence + relevant concrete support + summary sentence = 1 main idea. In short papers like ours, body paragraphs usually consist of 5 or 6 sentences.
- APA paper format and source documentation: meaning in-text citations of all quoted, paraphrased, and summarized content.
- Voice: Write this paper in either first or third person. However, the only reason you would choose first person is if you use personal examples as support. If you do that, be sure to edit your writing for a minimum number of “I” references and hardly any if at all uses of “I think” or “I feel.” Otherwise, use third person. With either, establish which voice in the intro., then stick with it.
- Evidence/Support: As with all writing, develop each main idea with a variety of concrete material, i.e. examples, description, facts, statistics, quotations, definitions, etc.
