Geography Travel Log

1. Choose a region you have traveled to that you would like to report on.

2. Compile a travel log of this region in one Word document that you will submit on GauchoSpace. It should consist of the following elements:

A. Two maps, which you can paste into your document from online: 6 points (3 points each)

1, Map # 1, Show the region as a whole (1 point), circle the city(ies)/area(s) that you visited (1 point) and mark the route that you took to/from/between the circled area(s) (1 point) (you can do this with the Word drawing tools)

2, Map # 2. Show one city/area within the region you visited (1 point); circle the neighborhoods/districts that you visited (1 point) and mark the route that you took to/from/between those circled districts (1 point)

B. 8 pictures that you or someone you went with took of the places you visited (or ones you have found online if you have never traveled outside your home region), at least two of which must include yourself (up to 3 of the 8 pictures may be your drawings or paintings, signed and dated) 4 points (½ point each)

C. Typed paragraph-length responses to the following items: 15 points (3 points each – 1 point for answering each of the three questions within each item)

1. What stood out to you about the landscape of this region? How were the terrain and vegetation similar to your home region? How were they different?

2. What stood out to you about the climate of this region? How were the temperature and precipitation (or lack thereof) similar to your home region? How were they different?

3. What stood out to you about the culture of this region? How were the art/architecture and cuisine similar to your home region? How were they different?

4. What stood out to you about the demographics of this region? How were the language(s) spoken and religion(s) practiced similar to your home region? How were they different?

5. What stood out to you about the economic development of this region? How were the level of wealth and types of employment observed similar to your home region? How were they different?
