History of oil as a commodity- a need for a new source of energy

Final presentation of research on your global commodity
For your final in this course you will write a summary/discussion, a methodology, and a literature review based on your research on a global commodity over the term. No late assignments. There is 20 minute grace period.

This is a formal paper that requires excellent prose, correct spellings and punctuation. It should be spell-checked and proof-read before it is submitted. It should include a full bibliography of all your primary and secondary sources in Chicago style.

Summary and discussion—write one page (double-spaced, Times New Roman, 12 pt. font)

The major findings of your research: what are some key facts, dates, events, etc. your research revealed?
The meaning of those findings: What does your research suggest about your commodity as a global commodity? This is your conclusion or thesis about the commodity based on your research.
Methodology—write at least half a page (double-spaced, Times New Roman, 12 pt. font)

What primary sources did you examine and how did you use them—how did you analyze them and why?

Literature Review– write at least half a page (double-spaced, Times New Roman, 12 pt. font)

What do your secondary sources say about your commodity—what are the major findings and arguments of the authors of your secondary sources?

Bibliography–A full list of all the secondary and primary sources consulted presented in Chicago style on a separate page from the rest of your writing. Sources should be listed in alphabetical order by author’s last name. Note that the Global Commodities site will provide you with citations for primary and secondary sources. Make sure they are in Chicago style. You can find guides on how to use Chicago style for a bibliography at the UWT Library and online.

Me – (Maybe a paper about a short history of oil as a commodity, and transition to a need for a renewable source of energy to replace our dependence on fossil fuels. (Because of climate change, energy price shocks, and oil depletion which are mentioned in my secondary sources.))
