Job Description Assignment. Visit the O*NET website. Click on the hyperlink, “Find Occupations (Links to an external site.).” From the drop down menu under “Job Family” select a job family of interest (for example, “Management” or “Business and Financial Operations”). Use the links to look up the listing for at least 3 different jobs you might be interested in upon graduation. Examine the job description (i.e., tasks, work activities, work context), job specifications (i.e., knowledge, skills, abilities), and salary information for each job. Next, visit the job search website Indeed (Links to an external site.). Look for similar jobs using the Indeed search engine. Again, examine the job description, job specification, and salary information (if available) for each job. Answer the following questions for each of the three jobs:
1. What similarities and differences did you find between the job descriptions, job specifications, and salary information listed on the different websites? Provide this information for all three job titles you searched.
2. How well qualified are you for the positions? What additional training and experience do you need for the positions?
3. How might you use this information in your job search/career? Again, be sure to provide specific information for all three jobs you researched.
