Human Rights

Human Rights is defined as a right that is believed to belong justifiably to “every” person, but not every person experiences the same slap on the wrist, consequences, or rights when it comes to the justice system, workplaces, and sexually harassed victims which is just naming a few. The justice system can be betrayed as biased, racist to minorities, and uncaring to some of the people that can be on the “bad side” of the court room. To prove these accusations there has been cases where innocent death row victims have been convicted of crimes with an almost impossible chance at a second trial, cases where a white person commits a certain crime and gets a consequence, and likewise a minority commits a lesser or similar crime, but receives a bigger or worst consequence. When a minority is convicted of a crime and is released from prison, it is much harder finding a job, but before even being a black convicted felon, a white convicted felon is liable to receive a job over the non convicted black male. Jobs discriminate based on how the names look. For instance, names that appear to be more unique or harder to pronounce are not often offered a job over a name as simple as Mary or Kyle. Studies have been proven resumes with the same work experience, degrees, etc are sent it with the names being the differences, and the less unique name gets offered or called for another interview. This point also brings me to the point of sexual harassment in workplaces or public. Bosses have been outed to offer higher positions or promotions in exchange for sexual favors. In cases where the sexual assault is involved, the victim appears to be at fault because he or she, in most reported cases, asked for, was wearing something inappropriate, or came off as misleading. All three topics are very different, but they share the same outcome. The outcome for each topic is violated human rights, awareness to those who are “in charge” or have the authority to create ideas to change these views, and people who just to justify these behaviors rather than change them.
