I’m learning about nursing theory development and analysis
I already turned in my analysis. However, my group has all different opinions between deductive inductive, assumption etc… Can you review and highlight and write a short note to each area below so I understand further:
inductive or deductive? I thought inductive from their previous heart failure self-care (practice theory) to this middle range theory.
Is it deductive from Orem’s self-care? I dont think so. They clearly said at bottom of p. 1 based on their previous work situation specific theory of heart failure self-care
purpose: said it on abstract.
Concepts: (already defined)
Context: chronic illness or illness-specific.
construct?
is it operational defined or theoretical? author said operational right on the top of page 2 but explain how they do it. Is it explicitely stated?
Linkages between concepts. Just highlight or briefly tell me so I can learn. explicitely stated?
Approach/strategy for theory development: practice theory (I leaned on this b/c they said they used heart failure working experience with their patients and their challanges. They didn’t say they used that theory to REVISE OR MODIFY THEIR MAIN PRACTICE THEOR? theory researcy theory? theory practice theory?
ASSUMPTIONS: Explain to me what they mean with their assumptions? I read it but what is the purpose for them to said such? why is it important to this theory article? I read and understood but really not fully undersand the assumptions.
Propsotions: they had all down. But what is the point of that? Please explain and give me example why it is important w/ these propositions
