Research Paper Guidelines
This paper should be written in YOUR OWN WORDS. Citations are required and should be properly cited.Any PLAGIARISM will result in a grade of zero (0). The paper should focus on your nursing theorist, their theory, and how their theory affects modern nursing.
It should follow APA (American Psychological Association) format and be 3-5 pages in length – no more! (Note: 3-5 pages includes the Title Page and Reference Page. Do not include the Abstract Page in your final paper).
The paper will be used as a basis of your class presentation.
Grading Rubric for Research Paper

| Introduction to the nursing theory that your theorist is responsible for. | 20 |
| Introduction to how your theorist’s beliefs affect modern nursing. If your theorist’s beliefs are no longer utilized in modern nursing, how were they utilized during their time? | 20 |
| Paper is organized with well-developed paragraphs. | 15 |
| Spelling, grammar, and punctuation are correct. | 10 |
| APA format is correct (including proper use of citations) | 10 |

Presentation Guidelines
This is an individual presentation. Be prepared to stand and speak to the class. Grading will be based on completeness and accuracy of the content, organization and clarity of the presentation, and the presenter’s level of professionalism.
You may include an audiovisual aid to enhance your presentation, (ie. Power Point, overhead, poster, prop, handout), but please be mindful that only 5 minutes will be allotted per student presentation. Each student must adhere to the time limit.
