Organizational Behavior Issues in Walmart
Background:
A brief narrative description of the organizational behavioral problem that you would like to research and resolve.
Throughout the years, Walmart has sustained a high turnover rate, where various employees reported they lack job satisfaction. Additionally, many customers complain about their experience when interacting with employees in the establishment. Moods, emotions, and job satisfaction can dictate the behavior of an individual in an organization. Walmart’s lack of emotional intelligence and failure to institute an effective reward system produces a behavior amongst its employees that resonates in employee-customer interactions.
Walmart’s employees have stated their management team is lacking. How can an employee show great customer service and communicate with the customers in a professional way if they feel they aren’t getting that from their leadership? If a manager is not able to show emotional intelligence when dealing with employees the employees will not show it when dealing with the customers. It’s kind of a domino effect.
