The Assignment Question

Section 1 (about 750 words) 

1. During the module you will have identified a preferred industry sector or role. Critically evaluate the current graduate labour market, with a focus on that particular sector or role.
2. With Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in mind, critically reflect upon the skills required for your chosen career/occupation.
   1. Identify any skills gaps (or areas for improvement) you may have
   2. Produce an action plan to address those gaps.
3. Explain the importance of reflection in your career planning

Section 2 (about 750 words)

Scenario: you have decided to apply online for a graduate level vacancy (of your choice).

• The online application is divided into five sections, each with a suggested word limit of around 150 words.
• In each section you will provide evidence that you have the following skills/experience (or at least a potential to develop): working independently; communication skills; taking initiative; networking and/or personal branding; and working to deadlines.
• In each section you must use a framework such as the CAR(L) model. (Tip: make your evidence easy for the recruiter to understand).

Criteria for Assessment

This assignment consists of two equally weighted Learning Outcomes, with a total word count equivalent of 1,500 words. The standard University 10% +/- margin applies.  Both of the learning outcomes must be met in order to pass this module.

How to pass this module

In order to pass this module, you need to:

• Ensure that you have fully met both the learning outcomes and tasks as detailed in this Assignment Brief  (if you do not meet one or more of the learning outcomes, you will not be able to pass)
• Ensure that assignment meets academic standards for referencing, structure, spelling and grammar use.
• Use the marking criteria to ensure you demonstrate key academic principles.
• Submit all the work required through Turnitin by the given deadline
